Basic Measurements:
- 25.4 mm = 1 inch
- 1 inch = 25.4 mm
- 400 Finish Cap Height = about 12.5 mm or 0.5 inch
- 410 Finish Cap Height = about 18 mm or 0.75 inch
How Tall Should My Shrink Band Be?
In order for a shrink band to work properly, the band must be up to 0.25 inch taller than top of your cap and 0.25 inch below bottom of the cap before heating. Based upon our numbers above, a 1 inch shrink band will not work with 410 finish caps.
What Bottles Do Shrink Bands Work Best With?
Your ideal container will provide at least 0.25 inch of uniform space below the bottom of the cap. For glass bottles we recommend a ring to be present around the neck for the shrink band to grab onto.
