In-depth information about the testing procedures for child-resistant packaging is found in 1700.20. General testing requirements start with examining the condition of the packaging. Part of general testing includes tamper-resistant features, which are tested against both children and adults; including seniors. Tests for resealing packages are only to be completed by adults. Child testing includes test subject selection, gender distribution, failures, and procedures for sequential tests. For senior adult testing sections include choosing test subjects, screening procedures, SAUE, and proper testing procedures for child-resistant packaging. Younger adult testing is similar to senior adult testing but uses subjects ages 18-45 specifically.
