Berlin Packaging, the world’s largest Hybrid Packaging Supplier®, and ININUM have been honored with a 2026 Formes de Luxe Award in the Beauty Tech category for ININUM’s pioneering AI-powered smart fragrance device.

Presented September 28 during LUXE PACK Monaco, the Formes de Luxe Awards are among the luxury packaging industry’s most respected honors, recognizing outstanding innovation in luxury packaging. Now in their 28th year, the awards bring together packaging manufacturers, brands, and industry leaders from across the global luxury market.

Winners are selected by a jury of luxury packaging professionals, with entries evaluated on innovation, technical manufacturing challenges, quality and aesthetic appeal, and sustainability. The ININUM device was recognized in the Beauty Tech category, one of 24 categories in the 2026 competition.

“Beauty tech is opening entirely new possibilities for how consumers interact with products and brands,” said Andrea Ucchino, Design Director EMEA at Berlin Packaging. “With ININUM, our challenge was to create a design capable of speaking authentically to all the worlds converging in this unique device — technology, fragrance, beauty, fashion, and interior design — translating the most distinctive codes of each into a truly premium object. The result demonstrates what can happen when product design, fragrance expertise, and digital technology come together to create a seamless and highly personalized experience. Following its recognition at the Pentawards, we are especially proud to see ININUM receive a second major international packaging design accolade with the Formes de Luxe Award.”

Berlin Packaging partnered with ININUM to develop the award-winning smart fragrance device, which allows consumers to create personalized scents in real time by blending interchangeable fragrance pods. The sleek cylindrical device combines premium industrial design with Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, NFC-enabled pod recognition, app-controlled scent blending, and AI-powered fragrance recommendations.

Users can create digital scent profiles, save customized favorites, and carry multiple fragrance options within a single portable device. Replaceable and recyclable fragrance cartridges also allow consumers to continuously refresh their scent experience without replacing the device itself.

“We created ININUM around the belief that fragrance should be as personal and dynamic as the people who wear it,” said Simon Mohorovič, Co-founder, ININUM. “Working with Berlin Packaging helped us bring that vision to life by combining technology, fragrance, and thoughtful design into one seamless experience. Receiving a Formes de Luxe Award is an incredible recognition of what we set out to create and of the possibilities ahead for a more personalized future of fragrance.”

The award also reflects the growing role of technology in beauty and personal care. As consumers seek greater personalization and connectivity, technologies such as artificial intelligence, NFC and connected applications are creating new opportunities to extend the beauty experience beyond the physical product. The ININUM system brings these elements together, illustrating how packaging, product and digital experiences are increasingly converging.

Behind the award-winning innovation is Studio One Eleven®, Berlin Packaging’s design and innovation engine, which partners with brands to transform ideas into commercially viable packaging solutions and consumer experiences. By combining industrial design, engineering, market insights, and innovation expertise, the team helps brands navigate increasingly complex opportunities at the intersection of packaging, product, and technology.
