Coloring mason jars is a simple way to add a bit of pop to retail product display holders and restaurant accessories, such as tea light holders. The process takes less than an hour from start to finish, and when you're done, you'll have functional, charming decorations that'll set your establishment apart from the competition. You'll need mason jars, Mod Podge, food coloring, bowls, coffee stirrers, a disposable cup, and an old brown paper bag or two. Have a separate receptacle on hand for each color you'd like to use.
Mix the food coloring with a small amount of water in one of your bowls. You'll need approximately 1 teaspoon of coloring and a splash of water for each jar. Pour about 1 tablespoon of Mod Podge into your jar, add your food coloring mixture, and then stir until everything is smooth and blended. Roll your jar around until the colored paste covers your masterpiece's entire interior. Pour the excess into the disposable cup, turn your newly tinted jar upside down, and let it dry on the paper bag. Your newly colored mason jars should be ready to go in about 30 minutes.
