Never make a CRP statement on a label for packaging if it doesn't meet CPSC testing regulations. If you are unsure if packaging meets CPSC requirements it is better to leave the label off or choose other packaging until you have clarification. Always use the text child-resistant packaging when adding labeling statements, no abbreviations like CRP or C-R. Using the entire phrase makes it easier for anyone who reads the statement on child-resistant bottles or containers to clearly understand its meaning. CRP statements should also use the term supplied in regard to products or information on CRP, and not the term available.Â
The FDA CRP labeling guidelines also provide examples of the correct terminology and phrasing to use when making CRP statements on labeling in their guidelines.
