THC isn’t only useful for getting high, though many people associate it with serving that singular purpose. In fact, THC has several therapeutic uses as a treatment for neurological diseases and chronic pain. Another common misconception is that any cannabis product has large amounts of THC. Different cannabis plants have different concentrations of THC, making some strains more or less potent than others. See the table below for THC percentage in some popular cannabis strains.

THC Percentage By Popular Cannabis Strains & THC Products
|
|
| Strain/Product | Percentage of THC |
| Hemp | 0.3-0.5% |
| Marijuana | 1-5% |
| Hashish | 5-15% |
| Hashish Oil | up to 20% |
| Pure THC Distillate | up to 90% |
THC isn’t neurotoxic as previously thought, it's actually classified as a neuroprotectant, and ongoing research shows it may slow progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Combining THC with higher levels of cannabidiol (CBD) greatly decreases its psychological effects for users who want to eliminate the euphoric feelings created by THC.
