Higher Product Price Points Put Spirits in Premium Packaging

Because spirits command higher product price points, alcohol beverage brands can leverage their higher margins and budgets to invest in custom packaging that makes a dramatic statement on the retail shelf, reports an article in Packaging Digest magazine.

The publication recently showcased 12 spirits in unique packaging — the author’s favorite was Iron Fish Distillery’s Estate Series whiskey, rum, and gin packaging, which was designed by Berlin Packaging’s Studio One Eleven inhouse design agency.

The packaging design was influenced by the farmland, water, and natural beauty that all play an integral role in the Iron Fish story. By modifying the stock-bottle shape used for other Iron Fish products, the design team was able to maintain brand continuity yet elevate the aesthetic of the Estate Series line with premium details.

The company’s beautiful, distinct fish logo is sculpted into the bottle, giving the finished product dimension, and paying homage to the steelhead trout that inspired the brand’s name.
